CAIRO PYRAMIDS WELCOME BACK WORLD'S TOP SQUASH PLAYERS
Once again with a smiling face and a heart as warm as ever Al- Ahram recieves the world leading men and women squash players who return to Egypt to compete in the most spectacular setting gof its $11o International Squash Championship. Starting from the 20th of August and for six wonderous days, the winning players will enjoy playing in the glass court staged in the open air alongside the great pyramids of Giza. The championship is expected to witness real compitition between the top seeded players like the world champion Peter Nicol, his Canadian rival Jonathan Power and Egypt superstar the third seed Ahmed Barada who will try this year to regain the title he lost last year to Peter Nicol. There is also Karim Darwish the world junior champion who promises much to the crowd that comes every year to enjoy the game, and the clear night sky. The women's event will not be less intresting especialy with the presence of the world No.1 Cassie Campion, who is expected to meet New Zealand Leilanni Joyce, the British Open Champion, in the final on Friday 25th August.
